Match Report Blue Mountains started in style, with good teamwork on the right flank. Rachel passed to Scott, on to Otis, then Mitchell H who passed back to Mitchell C whose strong shot from the edge of the penalty area found the back of the net. All in the first minute of play!
Blue Mountains continued to attack with runs up the left by Liam, Rachel on the right and Tim in the centre. Otis had a shot go just wide, then after 16 minutes Rachel took the ball up the right wing, ran into towards the centre and found the net with a great shot.
Further attacks saw Scott’s shot go just wide, Rachel had a shot saved and Tim, unmarked in front of goal, just failed to reach Rachel’s cross. Meanwhile at the other end James was able to bravely block a rare breakaway attack by Blaxland and Steve’s speed cut out another promising attack.
The second half continued in the same manner, with Tim’s shot hitting the left post and Nick’s going just over the crossbar. Then excellent teamwork brought Blue Mountains’ third goal after 7 minutes, with Nick and Steve combining well on the right, Steve’s long cross finding Tim unmarked on the left of the 6 yard area who made no mistake.
8 minutes later more good teamwork brought Blue Mountains’ fourth goal, with Mitchell C finding James on the left, James took the ball up the wing and his cross found player-of-the-match Rachel whose strong shot gave her a second goal.
Blue Mountains continued attacking with Liam and Steve working well on the wings and Scott shooting just over the bar from James’ cross. Meanwhile at the other end, Ben outpaced a Blaxland forward to cut out their only significant attack of the half.
The match finished as it started with a Blue Mountains goal, Otis connecting well with Mitchell C’s corner to make it 5-0.
