Match Report

Wow what a goal!!!
We have been waiting all year for the sweetest striker of the ball in our team to let one fly and we were not disappointed.

We were down one nil after a defensive mis-hap and had been fighting hard across the park to try and pull a goal back and not concede another. About half way into the second half and after some great lead up work, the ball came across to the right half, just outside the 18-yard box and about 5 yards in. Sweet strike of the ball with heaps of power and their goal keeper was picking it up from the back of the net. I know I am biased, as Reagan is my god daughter, but what a goal!!!

It was fantastic to see everyone in the team run over and congratulate their team mate.

The pace of the game lifted and both sides constructed some quality phases of play from end to end. Something had to crack and unfortunately it was us.

You can coach for many things with the exception of sheer pace and when Glenmore finally got a quality ball down the right wing releasing their quickest player, who until then we had succesfully contained, to go one on one with the keeper and their second goal was well finished.

We had our opportunities and we competed well for most of the game. A few heads went down after their first goal and I guess the lesson is to keep playing to the whistle no matter what you think as you are not the referee.

We were unlucky not to get a win, or even draw, and Glenmore remain the only team we have been unable to beat all year. Next time will be different.

The results of the weekend have proven very interesting and we sit second on goal average.
The key is in our hands and we need to win the next game to ensure we play in the final.

Well done to everyone.
