It was a game we were expecting to win but when our team numbers dwindled to only nine players, doubts were cast. The 11/4’s kindly lent us three of their Stars and they fitted into our style of play perfectly. Nicholas Giles was told to look for the spaces out wide in attack, and it led to him seeing far more of the ball and scoring a goal. Aiden Morgan shuffled into the centre of defence and looked very comfortable with a superb performance. Kali Ferris Smith dominated the midfield with Ben Cross in support and Kali added a well taken goal. Before the kick off we talked about scoring spectacular goals, and Timothy Kniha made sure his strike was a contender for ‘Goal of the Season’. Over twenty metres out from goal, he struck the ball sweetly and it flew into the net. Goalkeeper Josh Cox had little to do, but was a perfectionist with every call into action. Only an unlucky defensive mix up beat him this week. A nice victory that see’s us on track to have our most successful season for several years. |
