Match Report |
The last game of the season and a high note to end it all on. Playing the team running third, we weren't at all intimidated, and began the match brightly. Against the run of play though, in the early minutes we conceded a very scrappy goal. Shortly after we came very close to scoring ourselves when Phillip Talbot broke their defence and struck a goal bound shot that the goalkeeper managed to keep out with his foot. A brilliant stop! We continued to work hard, Joshua Cox, Tristan Watson and Timothy Knahia all rock solid in the midfield. Upfront Isaac Morris and Nicholas Giles always looked a threat, both players having exceptional speed. Defenders Kali Ferris-Smith, Brandon Dejonge, Liam Holmes and Daniel Neale rarely looked troubled as they confidently dealt with the RSL attack. Behind them Star Goalkeeper Natasha Stork brilliantly organised their positioning and dealt with anything that did manage to sneak past our defence. After such a brilliant performance and you were left thinking the result was abit unfair, up stepped SuperStar Chris Edwards. Gathering the ball forty yards away from the goals, he controlled it perfectly and dribbled it down the left side of the field, where he cut inside the penalty box and hit a low powerful strike that was unstoppable. The final whistle blew shortly afterwards, and once again the home supporters had seen their children participate in a wonderful game of football. A great result and way to end the season! |
