Match Report 12.5 – 24 July, 2004

Colo 1
Match Report Blue Mountains were superb in attack and the defence was outstanding. Colo pressured all of the game particularly in the second half with six strong attempts at goal. James was impressive as goal keeper and the backs in both half’s saved many times with great clearing kicks. The one all draw was a fair result.

The first half was all Blue Mountains with thirteen attempts at goal but could only convert one . Corey, Nat, Brenton, Michael and Alex all pressured the Colo goal and finally after a quick throw in by Alex to Corey who centred the ball perfectly for Brenton to score the goal.

Blue Mountains centres Mitchell H, Corey, Alex and Nat worked very well together to get the ball forward with some good passing shots through the Colo defence.

Against the run of play Colo followed through and scored the equaliser.

The second half was a different game. Colo were on the attack for most of the half having six attempts at goal, again our backs and James in goal were strong and kept Colo scoreless.

Our backs , Stevie, Liam Aden Mitchell C, Ben and Brendon showed all their skills in protecting their goal with great clearing kicks and the capacity to absorb the onslaught from Colo.

With only minutes to go Michael broke clear and ran strongly at the Colo goal, a great shot was just stopped by the Colo goal keeper.

A one all draw was a fair result for both teams. Man of the match was Mitchell Hunter who demonstrated he can play with great skill all of the game.
