Match Report: Intempesta nox esset obscurus (it was a dark and stormy night) that we took on Cranebrook at the Knapsack mosh pit. With a no-grip muddy pitch and only one reserve we knew that we would need to dig deep (aka achieve the optimum Composed Intensity index).

We started with complete control of the sloshy play, moving the ball around with accurate passing. And, it wasn’t long before the team was rewarded by a Skud wonder missile from outside the box!!!!!!! C’est la vie.

The team continued to work hard all over the field, generating some excellent chances, but the scoreline stayed at 1-0 to half time.

In the second half the opposition, against the run of play, managed to draw the scoreline. A testament to the team that we chose to lift rather than drop our heads … c’est la vie. And it was cum iam membra (Ibs) that saw to the retribution, bringing the scoreline to 2-1.

The team worked hard and, whilst the scoreline didn’t move, we saw a number of great chances. I won’t remember them all but Ibs came close a few times, Dre came close and birthday boy, the one we like to call Captain Nudy Run, came very close too. C’est la vie.

Then, in a play down the line … Dre struck the ball with perfect CI indexation … and this ball hit the back of the net convincingly! C’est la vie.

The opposition brought the scoreline closer to 3-2 but all the effort, energy and opportunity after this was all Bluey’s way.

It is no doubt that the introduction of the CI Index has allowed the team to Carpe Diem and to all the teams in the competition … Caveat Emptor!!!
