BMFC 16.1: 3
vs
Springwood United FC: 1

BMFC Goal Scorers: Ash, Jake, Ethan

Player of the Match: Alex Crambrook

Match Report: With Damo out injured and to give us extra personnel, Jos was kind enough to play for us this week. This also gave regular keeper Eli a run out on the pitch which he always relishes

In the first half, the back line of Aidy, Millsy, Sam and Max were solid, ensuring that Jos was not required to make a save

In midfield, Harry, Jake and Alex Win worked hard together with Alex in particular winning tackles and getting the team moving forward. Harry had a number of shots throughout the game and a goal is not too far away – great to see

Up front Alex Crambrook and Martin worked up and down the wings, to get forward and back as required. Ash and Eli came mid way through the half and were asked to keep up the work rate

A few chances were created – notably Ash hitting the cross bar and Ethan rounding the keeper but shooting just wide

Half time request was to shorten up the passes to adjust to the small pitch. The boys executed this really well in the second half and goal chances started to come more regularly. Unfortunately, we were a goal down from a quick counter attack ten minutes into the half. We hit back almost immediately through Ash jinking to find space a fire home in the box.

Alex Crambrook was moved to left back in the second half and defended superbly. Alex’s distribution out of defence was super. Alex made one surge down the left, besting two and getting in the box – passing well but a shot would probably have been the better option to cap off a great run

The second goal came when Ethan got to the bye line to pull back for Jake to score his first of the season and Ash put a super cross in for Ethan to volley home the third skilfully

Martin made a big difference in the centre of midfield in the second half, along with Jake and Alex Win, really helping us get in top

Jos made a brilliant save from a well struck free kick, tipping it over the bar when it looked destined to be a goal

Player of the match to Alex Crambrook for a great all round game in attack and defence. Notable mention also to Alex Win for his best game since joining us – winning a lot of ball in midfield and then distributing well
