Match Report: The rain came in the night before and was still coming down when we arrived early at Parker Street. The ref was happy to go ahead and play, so game on

A tight first half, with Rovers more in the ascendency. Not much was created at either end though. Five before half time a dubious corner was conceded and from this the ball bobbled around in the six yard box and was poked home

After this we got on top and started to play much better football. Harry Burns dribbled through from midfield and as the defenders backed off to mark their man Harry was able to get a shot away – just wide. The good play continued in the second half but we just couldn’t find an opening – the closest was possibly a header from Luke from a corner that went wide

We conceded a second with 20 minutes to go. Chasing the game we changed the shape to 3-4-3. The boys pushed Rovers back but could not create a clear cut opening – Rovers hit us on the counterattack but the back three at this stage of Brayden, Sam and Aidy did exceptionally well to repel

Coach’s pick for player of the match to team Captain Aidy who fought for everything. When things are not going your way, inspirational effort from the Captain that didn’t go unnoticed

A tough day and tightens the top of the league right up as we come into the final four games of the season
