Match Report: A must win game if we were to take it to the last game of the season to avoid relegation. With Sam away & Liam injured, we had the bare 11

Keastie was Captain and had his usual solid game at left back, making plenty of strong challenges and pumping his long quick throw ins down the line to get us on the offensive

We dominated possession all game but could not find a goal. Ten minutes in and we were behind following a break away and a shot from the edge of the box that Eli could not quite get to

Aidan was having another good game in centre midfield and his renowned vision saw him put a ball over the top for Oli to run onto. With more time and space than he realized Oli went for the Vardy on the volley from 20 yards out which flew over

Half time was calm as we all agreed we were playing the better passing football and just needed to keep it up

Early in the second half we had a corner that Millsy smartly took quickly to Eli who had raced over. Before the defence reacted, Eli had dribbled into the 18 yard box and put a super cross in for Damo to nip in front of the keeper and nod in

We continued to keep the ball well, pass in triangles and then get our wingers Alex and James away. At the back Dom, Millsy and Hamish were solid, not giving the opposition forwards much. Jake made a brilliant point blank save when they did get in behind on one occasion

With time running out it seemed as if we were destined not to find a winner as Oli struck a great shot that looked to be going in but the keeper just got a hand to it

Finally we were rewarded, with Millsy and Damo passing well with the latter finding Alex on the left side of the box. Alex slotted the ball into the corner

As the boys jogged back for for the kick off, the ref blew full time

A very well deserved win. Alex thought his goal was the equalizer – one of the boys told him we’d won and Alex said ‘really? I wondered why everyone was so excited when I scored!’

Player of the week Jake for a great first half in the centre of midfield and a clean sheet in the second half including a brilliant point blank save
