Match Report: We looked to back up last weeks win with a first win at home for the season. Following the previous evening’s coaching clinic from Steve ‘Schwarzer’ Keast, Ash went in goal for the first half. Chris was out due to illness so we had just the one sub. Aiden was Captain for the day.

We started brightly & maintained this for the first 10-15 minutes. Finn was a constant threat down the right hand side, getting in behind the defence to cross & shoot. We were caught on the counter attack & the shot just evaded Ash. Glenmore got a bit more into the game after this but the defence of Sam, Dom, Will & Aiden was very solid & any balls in behind were well cleaned up by Ash

Jake went in goal for the second half & did an excellent job as well. Finn moved to the centre of defence & although he constantly asked the coach if he could surge forward (the answer was no!) he did a terrific job with Millsy at the heart of defence. Damo & Alex slotted in at right & left back respectly & tackle & distributed out well

We probed away, constantly getting forward. Liam got a foot to a ball across the box but his shot went just wide. We were finally awarded with a goal with about 8 to go. Sam drove forward from midfield & knocked the ball through the middle for himself. Ash put in a dash of speed Usain Bolt would have been proud of off the blocks to out strip everyone & then calmly knock the ball past the oncoming keeper.

A few minutes later we got the lead. Ash & Sam combined again for Ash to hit the left byline & pull the ball back across the box. The ball bounced once & evaded the keeper & Eli nipped in sharply to head home

We kept players behind the ball well in the last minute or two to ensure there were no slip ups

PoM – Finn. Impressive down the right wing in the first half & defended & swept up well in the second
