BMFC Goal Scorers: Louis 3 Bailey 2 Myles 2 Ruben 1

Player of the Match: Ben

Match Report: After only a few short weeks of training, we had our first foray down the mountain to a very warm Eileen Cammack Reserve to face Jamisontown. With only 9 players available due to injury, Ruben from the under 10’s filled in to give us 1 reserve.
The boys started well and after a 3 pass counter attack, a through ball saw Louis in on goal. 1-0 blueys. More good play led to a shot on goal which was dropped by the keeper and Bailey finished well to make it 2-0.
Bailey then hit the post with a good long shot.
Late in the 1st half we started to get tired and Jamo pulled 1 back. 2-1 half time.
After finding a bit of shade and having a well earned rest the boys returned for the 2nd half and early goals from Myles and Louis saw blueys extend the lead. Myles then hit a great shot into the top corner and Bailey got his 2nd goal.
Ruben who played 3 different positions for the team scored after good play from Tom.
After more great team play Ben hit the crossbar from a long way out and Louis got his hat trick late in the game to finish off a 8-1 win.
Jackson was really strong in goal and his distribution of the ball started many good plays.
Bodhi read the game well controlling the defence and his great throw ins will be a huge plus for the team.
Josh who captained the side today played defence for the team instead of his usual midfield role and showed great touch and composure on the ball.
Jake tackled and won a lot of ball and played hard for the team despite getting a kick on the foot.
Tom played centre midfield and did a lot of work for the team making good decisions when on the ball.
Ruben was great trying for every ball and getting a well earned goal.
Player of the match went to Ben who had a fantastic game on the right wing. He beat players and got good crosses in and also worked hard for the team.
Well done boys. A awesome start to the season and some lovely football played by you all.
