Match Report: A cool morning and voters out in force…….so it was quite a crowd who gathered to watch a rematch of two fairly even teams. Blues had two away so no subs and Blaxland had a full 11.

Start of the game it was very even. Blues had worked on first touch in training so orders were clear. Loose ten nil but please, let’s get the first touch under control and make your mind up from there. And they did very well indeed. First blood came from Joey who was playing striker, a 25 metre lob that had the crowd on their feet. Magnificent, and one he will remember for many years!! But Blaxland fought back and got it back to 1-1 at half time.

Second half blues mixed it up a bit and Ben as forward found his feet and head. A terrific header from Mason direct from a goalie’s throw put the ball back into the box and Ben followed up with a header to make it 2-1. Suddenly Ben was on fire, making it 3-1 and then 4-1. Blaxland brought it back to 3-2, but Ben and the blues closed it out 5-2. A final fling from blaxland made it 5-3.

Some terrific touches from Harry M and Daniel, one move down the right from the back put it to Mason who crossed for Wil to head narrowly wide. It was a great piece of football and one that showed the talents of the team. The blues really played great football today, and at times really impressed.
