Match Report: A beautiful autumn day for our first home game of the season

Holidays, injury & suspension had left us with ten available so Caleb & Alex L were kind enough to help us out

The decision to award the captaincy to Aidy for the season was warmly received by the rest of the boys prior to the match

Another pre-match highlight was Keastie walking into the sheds, flipping his bottle straight into the drink bottle holder & confidently calling ‘We’ll get a win today boys’

An evenly fought first half. Caleb made one great save pushing a shot over the bar. At the other end, Alex C got in behind down the left on two occasions and got a decent shot away each time and had a third effort cleared off the line from a corner. Dom also created a chance for himself with an exquisite drag back (which brought ‘ooo’s’ from the crowd!) and turn & Max had a solid shot blocked in the box

Early in the second half and Penrith had a sustained few minutes of pressure which culminated in a goal – Caleb making the first save but the rebound was tapped in

Keastie was sent back on with about fifteen to go & tasked to run everything down up front & generally unsettle the opposition defence

We started to dominate possession virtue of our midfield trio of Eli, Damo & Millsy & with about ten to go Alex C got away down the left and one on one with the keeper slotted away clinically

Keastie got a great shot away & after harrying the defence again hit another shot across the box and it fell to Alex C to tap in at the second attempt with only a minute or two left

The last few minutes were played out comfortably for an excellent come from behind victory

A great team performance. Alex L was a great addition at left back & left of midfield & Caleb proved again what an excellent goal keeper he is. Player of the week to Dom for a superb game as centre forward
