Welcome to the 2006 season with the Blueys.

Registrations are complete for another year and our season starts with trial matches at Knapsack over the next two weekends. These will allow the teams and coaches to get the cobwebs out and begin to mould their play.

Our Premier and reserve teams have been training hard since early January and have already had two or three trial matches. They are going to be a formidable squad this year and will be worth watching on Sunday afternoons.

Roster – Canteen & Fields

Line marking and field setup (nets, etc.) for Saturday requires 6 people to start at 7:30 am.
Field setup for Sunday requires 2 people from each team to setup their field.

Canteen requires two people at a time for the duration of the duty. This is usually shared amongst the parents or players(14yrs and above) of the team.

Please also note that a roster will need to be done when the competition draw arrives, unfortunately the teams that will be rostered on for the first and fourth rounds will have very short notice so please be patient with BMSC as we have little control as to when the draw is issued.

BMSC 0 vs Blaxland 4

Blue Mountains started slowly but improved as the game developed into an even contest in the second half. Despite some brave saves from James, good defensive work from Tom, Liam and Ben and some penetrating runs from Steve, Scott and Tim, the fast Blaxland forwards were able to score 4 goals without reply.

BMSC Prems vs Polonia Soccer Club

On a hot, Sunday afternoon, Blue Mountains Soccer Club, faced up to Polonia Soccer Club at Chopin Park, Plumpton.

The game was played in a friendly manner, with the referee allowing a break every 20 minutes due to the heat.

Polonia could not match our boys’ intensity, even though they placed the ball in the back of the net, Blueys’ reciprocated 2 minutes later, and carried on from there.

I spoke to Polonia’s coach, Fr. Ryszard Gamanski), yes, that’s right a Catholic priest, the day after the game and he highly praised the boys from the Mountains.

He has asked me to implement a pre-season competition next year, the ” Polonia Cup” and stated that the first team to get an invite would be the team that Polonia lost to yesterday.
