Match Report |
Last day of the season and the club put on a fantastic Gala Day for the U9’s – thank you. The whole team was present and loved every minute of the four games they got to play today. Everyone played well: Kieran – terrific defence and great adaptabiity playing on the right of midfield when asked. James – tenacious as ever and pulled one cross back perfectly for a team mate to run onto and score. Aiden – solid defending and showed some great team work with Riley for a couple of goals. Maeve – midfield workaholic – never stopped running and tackling. Connor – played in all positions – defended strongly in partnership with Aiden and, like, James set up a goal, for Fin, beating a defender, getting to the bye line and pulling the cross back. Fin – up and down the pitch every game, scoring goals, setting them up and tackling back to assist the defence on numerous occasions. Some great saves in goal too. Kane – solid defender as ever but revelled when given the opportunity in midfield – great goal from Arwen’s pass. Ashton – a couple of goals, one a typical rasping left foot effort. Shows great understanding of the game, always knowing when best to pass or take on an opponent. Riley – goal scoring machine! More than that brought others into the game with good passing and movement up front. Arwen – Last but certanly not least – solid as rock in defence, clearing time and again. When given the opportunity up front did a great job, nearly scoring and setting up at least two goals for others. Deserved player of the day. In the photo:
