The second game in two days seemed to take its toll on the team with our closest game yet. Fletcher and Ben covered the field well with great ball control and footwork. After the first half in goals Brandon came out firing and had some good runs in the second half. Cameron and Paul put on a great defensive effort bedazzaling attacking players and cleared several important plays. Jack and Aiden Mc played a terrific game ensuring the ball was played well forward away from our goals. Daniel and Emma both put in over 100% almost being run off their feet.Play of the match came with a "Beckham like" right foot from Josh and although initially saved by the goalie Josh followed the ball in and finished off a great goal. Rosie had some great runs once she got into the clear with Connor in support – and support he did giving us several real chances at scoring. This determination earned him player of the match. Tim and Aiden M weaved their way through the defensive li ne on several occaisions making opportunities where there were none. A goal was scored by Springwood white however was called back for offside demonstrating what an important role the fullbacks played in our win. |
