Match Report |
We struggled to find form in the first half and fell behind to a very scrappy goal. At halftime we all agreed we were capable of far better, and the second half produced some of our finest football for the season. Chris Edwards did some surging runs past defenders and was unlucky several times not to score. Kali Ferris-Smith was also unlucky when he got his head to a powerful corner, only to see it go agonisingly close. The midfielders Phillip Talbot, Nicholas Giles, Callum Sinclair and Tristan Watson totally dominated the middle of the park, Tristan produced his best performance yet. He tackled well, carried the ball and distributed intelligent passes. He capped it off in the final minutes with a blistering shot from the edge of the penalty area. Another contender for Goal of the Season and earning us a share of the points. Tristan shared the Award for POTW with tough defender Brandon Dejonge. Brandon left the field early in the game with a dislocated finger. He went to the canteen to get some ice and calmy put it back into place. Still in alot of pain he rejoined his team mates back on the field. An incredible show of toughness from a ten year old. The final score was one each and a draw was probably the least we deserved after a thrilling second half performance. |
