Games Cancelled

All Games Cancelled this weekend (29-30 June)

Message from Nepean Association follows:

"We’ve been constantly monitoring fields and scheduled fixtures all day.  We have now reached the  OVER 60% of competition games that cannot proceed due to fields being closed.  Many of those fields that remain open are very questionable, with councils not confident that they will re-open, but are withholding their decision until tomorrow.  Coupled with that complication, the fields that are currently open, are not sufficient in number to  accommodate the washed out fixtures, furthermore, those fields that can accommodate extra fixtures are likely to endure such damage as to render them unsustainable for the balance of the season.

"With consideration given to the above information, the decision has been made to rule the entire weekend, with the exception of the Prem competition, a total washout and award a 0-0 draw to any fixture that was ORIGINALLY scheduled to be played this weekend.  Any other game that has been re-scheduled to this weekend from another pervious round will be re-scheduled once again.

"We know that there will be many that are not happy with this decision, however, of the options available to us, this was felt to be the best for the completion of the competition.  I’ll be working on re-scheduling Prems and the fixtures that need to be re-scheduled over the next few days.

"On another subject, we are running out of midweek night game opportunities for re-plays, and are fast approaching a point where we will only be able to propose a double header option for most replays.  Once we reach this point, it will be a “play or forfeit option” if clubs can’t reach a mutually agreeable and achievable date/time/venue agreement.  Please keep this in mind in coming weeks and be prepared to explain this to your members."
