Charity Event – the Why and the What
BMFC Family Fun Event – the Why and the What
As a community-based club we like to support our members in any way possible. From time-to-time we have members who experience hardship, either through poor health or circumstance. Members do not always like to be “on show” or, in fact, want to advertise their issues. With this in mind, the Club will respect privacy and make donations, on behalf of its members, in private to the recipients.
In the past, our Ladies Day and Men’s Day events raised funds to support the Glen McGrath Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Australia, Nepean-Blue Mountains Prostate Support Group, Springwood Neighbourhood Centre’s Winter Food Appeal, as well as having helped to provide funds to support the rehabilitation of a three year old Glenbrook toddler who was battling the effects of a stroke and leukaemia.
This year, these charity events have been broadened to a Family Fun Night. As with the Ladies and Men’s Days, all proceeds from the night will be donated.
In 2013, we have two families we would like to support, knowing that, while we cannot take away the pain and suffering they are experiencing, we would like them to know that, as a club, we are here to support them and hope that we can at least provide a little bit of comfort during these terrible times.
With the support of a lot of very generous sponsors, we have the following prizes that you could win (raffles being drawn this Friday evening):
¨ two tickets to the Manchester United game this Saturday at ANZ Stadium (brilliant seats!) – silent auction;
¨ a signed cricket bat – silent auction (thank you, Dave Gordon);
