Match Report

The first home game for the season started under a warm Autumn sun. The boys began strongly, dominating field position and peppering the St Clair goalie with plenty of shots. Heath and Luke were playing well up front early and were unlucky not to have us off to a flyer.

After weathering the Blue Mountains attack, St Clair turned the ball around and made the most of their opportunities, scoring two quick goals. Nice saves from Ben in goals were also a highlight of the first half.

Some nice passing from Gus Callinan to Gus Langworthy saw us score our first goal and we went to half time down 2-1.

The weather was not kind during the second half. The breeze turned to wind and we were camped deep in our territory with Sean doing a great job in goals. Defenders Will, Hunter and Billy fended off attack after attack. Goal kicks into the wind were difficult and St Clair eventually scored their third goal.

Our ref Tim blew the whistle for full time with St Clair winning 3-1. Thanks also to Gavin who did a great job as our stand in coach and almost steered us to victory in a tough match.
