Match Report |
Fantastic result this week on the back of a great team performance! All our players followed the plan to control possession and the movement of the ball out wide. On the bigger pitch and having only one sub this week, it took a lot of perseverance and everyone committed brilliantly, with deserved reward for the hard work (i mean the score, not lollies – sorry guys, next week!). Defence was meticulous, with Martin and Lachie as goalies performing good saves, but impressively never under too much pressure thanks to the great work of our defenders, quickly repelling most opposition attacks out into safety. When we brought the ball inside in our attacking half, there was great controlled passing and great positioning, which ultimately resulted in goals. Alex led well on the pitch, carrying the ball forward and combining well with all our forwards. Kynan was brilliant, consistently controlling and executing great passes with the ball and scoring a great goal in the second half. Aidan’s footwork and change of direction was brilliant and set up numerous thrusts forward and pushing forward into good positions he scored two great goals. Martin’s passing work was great and also ran into good positions resulting in a goal also in the second half. Lachie got us our of danger on a couple of occasions with great challenges and repeat efforts. Riley was rock solid in defence and played some great balls forward, as did Corin and Luke and all found their way forward in the second half and combined really well with great all control and passing. Will showed great skill with two great headers, pushing the ball forward into good space and impressive footwork, looking dangerous a couple times near goal. Player of the week was Josh who not only seemed to be involved in almost every contest, but every time made real effort to execute with balance and control and as a result, even under pressure, almost all his possessions and passes were effective and created attacking opportunities for us. Great work Josh and great work everyone, it really was a great performance by you all and you thoroughly deserve the result. Let’s keep it up! |
