Match Report – O35.4 – Game Date: 9 August 2015

BMFC O35.4: 2
vs
Jamisontown FC: 1

BMFC Goal Scorers: Psycho, Ibra

Player of the Match: Glen

Match Report: After four weeks without a match you would expect a full fit squad ready for round one of the semi’s. No. We had 12 and then we found out the ref had picked up an injury and our 12th man Phil ‘Intensity’ Peet was asked to fill the void. The bare 11 it was then

With both keepers out the gloves were tossed to Glen – he dropped them … which was worrying

The Jamo boys wandered around before kick off – Ipswich went over to see if all was ok – they said they were looking for the pitch as they couldn’t see any grass. Welcome to late in the season at Knapsack, chaps

The game finally got underway. On the whole we controlled the play but struggled to create a clear cut chance. This changed after about half an hour when Mick Hampson put in a cross from the right and Psycho rose like a salmon to head goal bound. Keeper got down to it but couldn’t keep it out. We didn’t hold the lead long, Jamo catching us on the break to level. It stayed that way til
half time

Mick was pushed up front with Ibra for the second half and Ipswich moved out to the wing

Second half was more of the same – plenty of possession but no penetration. About half way through the half we won a free kick in our own half and Scott hit a 50 yard ball up to Ibra who read the bounce well and knocked the ball over the oncoming keeper and into the net

We played out the rest of the game without too much drama

A few special mentions:

– Phil for officiating – thank you, greatly appreciated by both teams
– Aaron for sticking like glue to Jamo’s tricky centre forward and nullifying him completely
– PoW Glen – 3rd choice keeper and was solid as a rock
– Ibra and Psycho – fighting it out for the Golden Boot award. They are now well clear of Suarez (hasn’t missed out on a Golden Boot since joining Blueys some 6 years ago) who has suffered a season ending injury
