Match Report: It was a dark and stormy morning that we took on our next opponent … And we shared the day with the club’s 50th Anniversary Gala Day!!!!

Unfortunately, St Mary’s put away two early goals! But after the initial shock the team brought the game back under control.

There was some mayhem on the sideline and the stud took aim with his side-winders but again all was back under control in a matter of moments.

Apparently there were even a few goals to mention! Not too many players get to boast a goal from a corner, but the list grew by one, with Pirate curling a wonder-corner … straight into the goal!!!

And then there was the precision of shotgun speculator! He leant back with the aim of sending the ball back looping into the box where everyone but our keeper was … and this too went straight into the goal (with some distracting techniques applied by the Crank).

Special mention here to our Coach/Captain, Grasshopper, who is sidelined for the season with injury. Thankfully the thought of just being Coach hasn’t turned him off. Still working toward a great season!!!

Lucky for him, he is already off the Nudy run list (having scored a goal) as there wouldn’t have been any leniency!

After the game, many of the team settled back to enjoy the Gala Day BBQ and watch a few Blueys games. A great day. Thank you to a great club.
