Match Report: It’s amazing what a week, and a dark and stormy one at that, can do to a team. We had a training session that returned us to the basics and we brought this to the field.

We controlled the first half and were rewarded with our first goal … GB (hungrier than ever) followed in a dropped ball from the keeper! We pushed on and we made many more passes than last week. Certainly we made it a little easier on the sideline for the Grasshopper and the Taxman.

In the second half we must have tired somewhat as we began to turn the ball over more. The opposition capitalised with their only opportunity, bringing the game to a draw. GB rightly asked the question of the boys “is this what it takes to get us fired up?”

We pushed a little more and something that started from the backs, resulted in a wonder cross from Crank, into the path of GB and another goal!

The remainder of the game wasn’t Barcelona-style soccer but we held the result.

Great way to lead into the team BBQ.

Special call out to our injured comrades … repair well and quickly for work, home … and of course soccer! Skud, Rocket, Shotgun and Grasshopper!
