Match Report

For the second Saturday in a row we came up against the Bandy boys. We all knew the importance of this fixture in terms of our chances of taking out the League.

The opposition noticed the distinct lack of turf and a suggestion that the game may be better suited being played in the car park was made – judging by a few a couple of the challenges made on Quinny in the first half, the car park may have been a better option.

It was another windy day and this proved to our advantage in the first few minutes. We won a free kick about 40 yards out and Rash fooled everyone by sending the ball over the keeper and into the net. 1-0.

The rest of the half was a tight affair. Pom cleared brilliantly with a header onto the crossbar a shot that was certain to go in.

The second half continued in the same vein, neither side gaining the ascendency. With about 15 to go Ipswich put a cross into the top of the box and Hornswoggle was fouled as he went for the ball. The keeper positioned his wall to cover the middle of the goal and then himself directly behind it so be couldn’t see the ball – JB welcomed the invitation by drilling the ball into the vacant bottom corner. 2-0.
