Match Report: Every game in this division is a battle, no team is running away with it and no team is getting touched up each week. This provides really competitive football for the boys and this game was no exception

With Eli away, Caleb was brought in as keeper and as always was solid and reliable. St Clair had the better of the opening exchanges pressing us back into our own half. Max stood out in central midfield, challenging and chasing, fighting hard to turn the momentum our way. At the back Sam was immense – intercepting getting a foot in the way or a head to a ball. Once we started to get on the front foot Alex found space regularly down the left, getting crosses in well for Dom and James

We fell behind midway through the half to a long range effort that was very well struck. Not long after James made a run down the right and hit a great shot that beat the keeper but also the post by a few inches. Ethan came on for Dom and won a free kick 20 yards out. Damo stepped up and stood over the ball in a stance similar to Ronaldo (see photo below). He then struck the ball over the wall and dipped it down away from the keeper. Damo practices free kicks every week and the reward was there for everyone to see today

The boys were a little frustrated at their first half performance feeling the game was there to be won. Ethan was being well marked by an excellent and quick centre back – Coach said to keep at it, you only have to get away from him once to score

In the second half we got on top but could not find a goal. Jake had a couple of shots – one with his weaker left was well struck but just over. Ash, started to trouble St Clair down the left and on the right Oli was doing the same. We finally got ahead with ten to go, Oli putting Ethan away behind his marker to volley past the keeper. A few minutes later another sweetly hit volley, this time from Ash wrapped the game up

We won a lot of ball in the air today – Keastie, Sam, Aidy, Millsy, Damo all winning multiple headers
