BMFC Goal Scorers: Jake
Player of the Match: Damo
Match Report: A tough away trip today. Max was borrowed from the 12.1’s as illness, injury and holiday had again left us a little short. Aidan was Captain for the day. We started positively, controlling the play and interchanging our passes well. We opened the scoring thanks to a great one two from Jake to Alex C and back to Jake to poke home. We could have had further goals with Alex C squaring the ball when a shot was probably the better option and Jake’s effort saved after a well weighted ball over the defence into his path from Aidan
Before half time Penrith started to come through our middle and this resulted in two goals
The second half and the heat and our lack of substitutes took its toll. We conceded further goals and couldn’t regain the midfield control we had in the first half
Despite the loss there were some exceptional performances today not unnoticed by coach and supporters. Dom ran himself into the ground – challenging, chasing and breaking forward from midfield. Alex C was a constant threat down the left and then right wing. Aidan’s skill, vision and distribution from just behind the centre forward created a number of chances as did his crossing from the right wing. Hamish and Liam worked tirelessly as the book ends in defence. Damo and Millsy’s skill and passing in the centre of midfield in the first half was what got us on top. Jake was a major threat up front, scored one and went close for a second. Eli was reliable as ever in goal and added energy in the midfield. Max linked up well with the team and showed his endurance having played a full game only an hour before – thx so much for helping us Max. James’ running and passing troubled the opposition defence and filled in well at the back when required. Sam played with injury and his cover tackles prevented many goals
