Match Report: It was a slightly warmer Saturday arvo kick off for a rematch of two teams that last time met, one handed out a footballing lesson whilst the others gave themselves a footballing lesson. Blues lost 5-3 and lamented giving possession away for a couple of goals. So would it be different this time?

This one kicked off with blues having practised their pressing and one on ones in training. The game was very evenly matched with blues defence playing a lot deeper to stop the balls in behind for the fast springwood forwards. It was very tight and blues hit the bar with an effort from distance, but just before half time springwood took the lead. Half time 1-0.

Second half Blues went out looking to get the first goal. So Ben and mason up front obliged, mason passing to Ben who finished into the corner low and fast. Game on at 1-1. From then it was end to end but blues defence stopped any major forays into the box whilst Ben and mason looked increasingly dangerous. Some great build up play put mason in the box to tap home from 5 metres.

From then on springwood threw everything forward but blues held firm with jack, con s, Harry c and connor g in goal holding out to the end.

MOM Harry m, his positional play, passing and effort was outstanding.

Well done blues, 2-1 against a team who has made winning a habit this year!
