Opposition Score 4

Match Report Blue Mountains lacked discipline in the early stages but improved as the game developed into an even contest in the second half. Despite some brave saves from James, good defensive work from Tom, Liam and Ben and some penetating runs from Steve and Tim, the fast Blaxland forwards were able to score 4 goals without reply.
In the first half, Nick saw his shot go close after a good run by Steve up the right wing. Tim’s lob required a goalline clearance by a Blaxland defender and Mitchell C forced a save from the Blaxland keeper. At the other end James made two brave runs out of goal to smother shots from a fast Blaxland forward who had broken clear and there was good individual defensive work from Tom, Ben, Liam and Aden. Midfielders Steve, Mitchell H and Tim and forwards Sarah, Nick and Mitchell C kept running despite the heat.
Blue Mountains pressure intensified in the second half with the introduction of substitutes Otis, Scott and Rachel with an attack fom Mitchell H and Tom forcing a corner. Mitchell C’s strong free kick from the edge of the penalty area was just wide after a Blaxland defender had handled to stop Steve’s run up the left wing. Then in the last few minutes Blue Mountains forced a series of corners but couldn’t get the ball over the line in a series of goalmouth scrambles.
