Match Report Blueys Unlucky
In a game that was played with a lot of heart by both teams. the Blueys were unlucky. A luck “Cracker” goal by St Marys Band Club saw Bandies go to a 1-0 lead, which they held onto well into the game.
In the 2nd half, Blueys retaliated with a goal by Mick Rennie, to draw the game.
With no too much time left it looked as though the Blueys would come away with a point, but a moment of lapsed concentration, saw Band Club score the winning goal.
The comments after the game from both sides and some officials, shared my opinion, that the Blueys were the better team and were unlucky not to come away with at least 1 point.
With the season just starting, I am sure that the Blueys can return to the winning circle to defend their hard-won title from last year.
With Nigel retiring from playing, the new ‘Keeper has some big shoes to fill, but from what I saw on Sunday, he is getting the job done.
