Match Report

Great game between the two BMFC powerhouses of the Tigers and the Panthers – very evenly matched and very enjoyable to watch – well done both teams.

Cy kept a clean sheet in the first half … a memorable push around the sticks from a shot that was destined for the top corner was the highlight.

Zac had a great game back after a week on holiday, wreaking havoc with his footwork and was denied at least 3 certain goals early on only by great goalkeeping by the oppostition.

Tayden played very well, unlucky not to score in the second half with a trademark bomb from way out, but coach is most happy that he continues to trap the ball now before releasing!

Matt played a great first half on the field, defending well (he has close to a 100% record of not allowing players to pass him) and positioning himself wonderfully as always, and made plenty of stops in the second half in goals.

Ethan seems to be becoming a natural sweeper – he ran all day as usual, and always seemed to be first man back in defence to make goal saving tackles.

Jayden, too, caused plenty of turnovers, and made great runs with the ball out of our own end on numerous occassions.

Tom had a great game – his awareness when playing up front was a highlight, and he was unlucky on a couple of occassions not to get a good run at goal, if only our through balls to him were a bit cleaner.

Jack played well as usual, and seemed to turn up just at the right time all over the field … plenty of turnovers caused, and like Tom, unlucky not to get that final pass on his runs upfield.

Joe was strong on the ball in the middle of the park – he rarely was tackled and he really uses the pull back turn we have beed practising all year to great effect.

Brad was released in the forwards this week (coach has finally learned winger is not your natural position!) and was rewarded with his second goal of the year – a great strike with his laces from 10 yards out.

Well done boys.
