Without doubt, Game of the Season! It was fast, tough and thoroughly entertaining. It was hard to pick who were the Competition leaders as we settled early and played an outstanding passing game to dominate the first half. Timothy Kniha and Gieran Vowels both play the game with smiles on their faces, but under that smile was a dedication to be as tough as nails. Chris Edwards led by example in the midfield, constantly helping the defence, then supporting the attack. Nicholas Giles also worked tirelessly, his stamina and skill is even more remarkable considering he is only eight years old. The game slipped away in the final minutes when RSL made a rare break and the striker left Star Goalkeeper Natasha Stork with little chance. It was a huge effort from all thirteen boys, the final score not really a true reflection on what had happened during the fifety minutes. Liam Holmes won the Award for POTW with a really gritty performance. |
