Match Report |
Finally the season began and we welcomed Glossodia to Knapsack. After the most disruptive pre-season since playing over 30’s in ’61, according to Stanley and Intensity, we were keen to get into it. The new lights stood magnificently around the oval – once the Council and Endeavour Energy finally pull their fingers out, we look forward to benefitting from them. A quick re-cap of everyone’s names for our two new signings, Matt and Kozy, and we were underway. We started very brightly, passing and moving fluidly to create a number of early chances – the bar being rattled twice in the first half. The Glossy boys slowly got into the game but our back line was solid – a man of the match performance from the Axe at the heart of defence. The second half was more of the same – we were very much on top but just could not get the breakthrough we deserved. Two goals ruled out for offside for Nude Nut and Suarez and a number of one-on-ones not put away meant a no score draw was the final result. Post-game we found our rhythm once again around Swerv’s esky and enjoyed our sausage and bacon rolls cooked off by The Hoff. A solid, no frills match report, with little creativity – pretty reflectve of our first game really. |
