Match Report 12.5 – 20 June, 2004

A hard fought game against St Clair Blue saw a nil all draw. St Clair fired 12 shots at our goal and were either saved by the excellent work of James or were wide of the goal.
Blue Mountains attacked well in the first half with goal attempts by Mitchel C, Mitchel H, Alex and Michael. Brenton never stopped running and continually put pressure on the St Clair backs. Michael used his skills to get the ball up but could not put the ball in the goal.

The second half saw St Clair apply the pressure and our defence had to work hard to keep the ball away from the goal net. Alex, Cory, Aden and Stevie played well with some great clearing kicks and clever running. Cory had a shot at goal but the keeper saved the goal. Alex ran the St Clair players down forcing them into errors and was rewarded with the man of the match.

The centres, Ferret, Mitchel C, Mitchel H and Ben showed the skills they have in taking the ball up or stopping the progress of the St Clair attackers.

Cory ran very well taking the ball up all day and saving many attacking St Clair moves, turning them into attacking opportunities for Blue Mountains. The team needs to take advantage of Cory’s skills by supporting him and giving him somone to pass to.
In the last minute a penalty was given for a tackle on Mitchel H. Unfortunatly the attempt was just wide and the game finished nil all.
