Lower Mts Sports Field Study
Lower Mountains Sports Field Study – Council Meeting: Tuesday, 17th July.
Blue Mountains City Council has recently conducted a Lower Mountains Sports Field Study where clubs were surveyed and grounds assessed by consultants.
Item 14 of Council’s Business paper, to be considered this Tuesday night (17th July), presents the consultant’s findings and recommendations. The report can be viewed at http://www.bmcc.nsw.gov.au/yourcouncil/councilmeetings/2012meetings/17july2012
It recommends a range of treatments at various grounds – $100,000 is proposed for Capital Works at Knapsack Park in the current financial year. The works include an upgraded watering system and other works.
This is the first capital works for many years at our ground and follows several years of lobbying by the Club’s Board. It follows the Plan of Management in 2007 and then the Masterplan in 2009. Club President Ian Monaghan will be speaking at the Council meeting on Tuesday night in support of the proposal and seeks all interested people to accompany him and with one to possibly address Council briefly on the positive effect it will have at the ground and the appreciation the Club has for the proposed works.
This is an important step in our Club actively engaging Council to ensure that our needs are known and our voice heard. This will lead to further works in future years, so it is very important for this engagement to occur.
Please call Ian on 0400 489 807 to discuss this further.
Your visible presence is the only way our voice will be heard, so please give your time to assist. Do not leave it to someone else.
