Match Report

Our second visit to Wentworth Falls in eight days. The weather was a total contrast to the previous week; today was warm and sunny, perfect conditions to play Football.

It was an awesome contest, every Blue Mountains Player contributed in this Winning Team effort.

POTW Gus Langworthy led the attack, always remaining cool under pressure and laying off intelligent passes. He was well supported by Luke Springett, who was unlucky in the First Half when his powerful shot smashed into the upper side netting.

Gus Callinan saw plenty of the ball in the Second Half when he moved onto the Left Side of Midfield. He showed lots of skill taking the ball forward and putting us on the Attack.

Billy Moar and Zac Lee were given instructions to be tough and control the midfield, and both put in awesome performances.

With the Match ticking down into the final few minutes, Heath Stanners seized on a GK fumble, stayed remarkably cool, and stroked the ball into the net. He jokes that he always scores when his Mum comes to watch, and had earlier suggested his Dad go to his Sister’s Netball. He certainly got it right today!

It was a well deserved Win, and a special mention has to go to GK Robbie Churchill who didn’t concede a single goal in 100 minutes of football at Pitt Park.
