Match Report

In the first half we found ourselves under pressure. The boys defended really well and Ash made a couple of good saves when the defence was beaten. Two good goals from a very talented Emu player were conceded though.

At half time the coach asked the team continue to defend as they had done in the first half, which had been excellent. Try and get the first goal and this would lift us and put pressure back on the opposition.

In the the second half Eli went in goal and was exceptional, making a string of brilliant saves. Jake hit the post as we started to get on top and create chances. Damo, who was highly involved and effective all game, put a cross in which was unluckily hand balled. Plenty of volunteers to take the penalty which was great to see. Aiden was given the task and calmly put it away.

The goal really lifted our intensity and suddenly we started to dominate play. Kane was playing upfront and was causing the defence plenty of problems. The equalizer came via some great attacking play and finish from Damo.

We had further chances to score (a free kick from Jake was sent across the box perfectly but no one could get on the end of it) but it was Emu who got the last goal, a great shot that Eli was unable to reach.

A great game and impressive second half fight back.
