Match Report

It ended up being a dark and stormy day that the O35 4W took to the field for the second and final trial. O35 4W looks like a NSW Rego Number so we’ll have to look at a killer team name after we’ve finished naming the remaining players!!!

For this report, we’ll be known as the Bull Dozers!

This year saw the amalgamation of two teams and, despite it being early days, it looks like its going to be an enjoyable season!

Alerting the players to the usual formalities / the small print of their signing up to the Bull Dozers:

  1. Thou shall complete a nudy run if thou doesn’t score a goal during the season!
  2. If thou receives a yellow card, thou shall find themselves wearing the number 1 jersey in the next game
  3. If thou receives a red card, thou shall find themselves wearing the number 1 jersey for the next 3 games!

Last week saw a decisive first win against Hazelbrook 3-0. This week saw us come up against Springwood and a good test it was. Dez tested the players in various positions, including GB and Disco up front! Bruce in the midfield, Shotgun in the backs and Slash between the sticks. It took a first sub and a first touch for Steve before yours truly (Disco) was away for a 1 on 1 and a goal. Springwood came back hard despite the scoreline finishing up at 6-1 in our favour. Steve put two away (one being an absolute cracker). Dez/Cannons/Grasshopper/Poacher put two goals away too and was unlucky that his very well hit shot just went high. Finally, I was able to snatch two goals.

Johnny aka Pulp (John > Travolta > Pulp Fiction) had a dynamic game and was also unlucky not to have some success with his scissor kick! Similarly Dirty narrowly missed a good opportunity.

Defence was equally impressive with Tomb Raider and BK sharing the sweeper position. Talk off the ball was a-plenty and positive which allowed us to rally when we needed to.

Cranky, as always, put in a great effort and was unlucky not to bag a goal. Something about Dez poaching your goal?? Turtle too was dynamic in a number of positions up and down the field, being a wall in defence; providing assists in midfield and shots in the forward line!

Great effort guys. Looking forward to the next game being for points and to the return of the international recruit (Postie).
