Match Report

It was a dark and stormy day that saw the Over 35 Fours take on Springwood at the Cauldron. Frankie had found his bearings and joined the team which turned out to be all good for the Blueys.

The final score was a convincing 7-0 and this started from maintaining possession. The midfield was making use of both the backline and forwards in order to make the required space and keep possession.

Muz had his stint in goals and added his name to the list of keepers with a clean sheet. Early on, he had to scramble to pick up the ball from some keen Springwood boots but after that it was all smooth sailing.

Pirate put two dream goals away this week, both off the head!! Dez also put two away; one a right foot volley and the other a header off a Hurley chip. Hurley nabbed a goal for himself. That was it from the players who were already off the nudy run list.

Enter … the Dirty Shotgun. Quite possibly the goal of the day was scored by Dirty who took his right foot to the ball on the right side of the 18 yard box. The opposition keeper had to painfully watch the ball pass him to hit the side netting on the left side.

Finally, there was Shotgun who put away a glorious goal. With dogged determination he made sure that it was his boot to make the shot and rattle the net. Shotgun ran back to his half with his jersey over his head, to the sound of the team chanting "Shottie’s got back!"

Rounding off a great day (despite the dark an stormy weather) the team put on a magic BBQ and we rested and watched other Bluey’s teams aiming to emulate the 9am game.
