Photos ensured the majority of the team were at Knapsack nice and early except for JB who had just had another big night on the town and needed a couple of hours sleep to sober up. Table topping Springwood made the short trip down the mountain to take on the improving Blueys. In the first half we completely out-enthused our opposition. Ipswich broke down the left onto Justin’s pass, squared it inside to La Celeste who fired across the goal for Harry to nip in at the back post and put us one up. The second was created well down the right hand side with Zap playing into JB’s feet who laid it off into La Celeste’s path to fire home well. The last goal of the half was La Celeste’s second, chasing down a long ball and shooting across the keeper into the net. Half time 3-0. Woodies fought back well in the second half and got one back after some sustained pressure. At 3-1 up we subbed regularly, really regularly, to slow the game down and keep fresh legs on the park. Two more goals in the last ten minutes, La Celeste completing his hat-trick by just wanting the ball more than the two defenders and keeper in the six yard box and JB beating the keeper one on one after a great through ball from Marcos. Great battle all game in the midfield from Sean, Zap, Craig and Nude Nut and excellent defence from the back four provided the platform for the forwards to do the rest. |
