Match Report: It was a dark and stormy morning that the O35, 2’s took to the field at Richmond. We had the identical start to last season but we ideally wanted to change which way the 3 points went…

Also, the team took on some new talent in the off season and this was the first test to see if the personalities would combine into a result … AND IT DID!!! HMFY!!

Pass, pass, pass and then a cross along the ground … between two defenders … onto to a flying size 14 boot. GB slotted the first goal home!

Pass, pass, pass and a loud call from Dez ‘now, now’ and he was spot on! His first touch was wickedly back toward the goals and he took a clean shot between keeper and goal post. Sweet!!!

Who knows what happened next as the opposition were awarded a penalty on the spot. Certainly Mayo had a point of view he wanted to share with the ref!!! Not to worry, as Frankie got to store away some intel about the way the kicker took his penalties … always good for the games when it counts more!

Then, pass, pass, pass and …

The seas parted … and

A size 14 boot slammed a ball between the keeper’s hands and the top bar … taking the team to 3-1!!!

Something about a late goal by Richmond but the Bluey’s maintained their well deserved lead and brought home the points.

Obviously there was a lot more to the game and the individual and team efforts were massive!

Besides how much it all hurt … I think each of the units (defence, middies and forward line) were all satisfied with what they were able to achieve.
