Match Report: It was a dark and stormy Sunday afternoon that the AM7 Blueys took to the field. As with any new team, we just wanted to get out there and see how we’d play!

The team definitely had the momentum in the first half with the only question being … could we put one away, to capitalise on the work. The question was answered toward the end of the half when Toey brought down a corner kick, took a step to the side before putting the foot down!! 1-0.

The second half saw our dominance continue, however, we were also leaving ourselves open a little (as we tired). In one particular skirmish the ref pulled us up and awarded a penalty … it was cruel, against the run of play, but none the less the opposition made no mistake. 1-1

As mentioned, we are a new team … We have the inseparable trio of twenty year olds; Jordan (100% game to goal ratio!); the Toey pilot; an enthusiastic Val (who needs a chaperone for his hair … yes jealous!); the dynamic duo of Tingles and Crussell (school comrades); along with some other long-term associations of, no doubt, a dubious nature … Slash, Hollywood, Skud, Dre, Mayo and yours truly. Would we pull together, as one, in the last 10 minutes?

Hell yes!! A corner came in and Mayo made some magic, heading a goal home to ensure we left with 3 points.

With two goals from corners today and a few from the first two games, we should take some confidence from this – both those taking them and those going for goal 🙂
