Match Report: Catch up game in the school holidays and luckily everyone was available to play. We were on top in the first half but it was a scrappy game with no real flow to it. Damo was introduced after 15 minutes and made an immediate impact – Ethan played James out to the right wing and James put a great cross in that Damo ran onto to fire home. It stayed 1-0 to half time

Coach told the boys that they needed to lift their work rate and desperation for the ball as, aside from Sam and Ethan, they seemed to be just going through the motions

After an early scare in the second half from a long range effort that went just over Eli’s bar, the boys started to compete harder and off the back of that played much better football. Goals came in the last 20 minutes – Ash put a good cross in from the left for Ethan to poke home; Millsy, given some time in centre midfield, showed his ability setting two goals up – playing Ethan in for his second and James to knock in his first goal of the season. Max had a good second half, winning ball and was rewarded when Ethan played him in to chip a tall keeper for his first of the season too

Scoreline flattered us a bit but the second half was a much improved team performance and it was a half when most shots seemed to go in for us

Defence was solid thanks to Aidy, Millsy, Jake, Sam, Dom & Damo with Eli keeping another clean sheet. Parents player to Ethan for his work rate as much as his goals
