Match Report: After last week’s heart-breaking last minute loss, emphasis today was a solid defensive performance from every player to ensure we made it as hard as we could for the opposition to break us down.

Eli was goalkeeper for the whole game today. Our defence limited RSL to one clear cut chance & like all good keepers Eli pulled off a diving save to his right to deny the forward.

In central defence Jake & Millsy were absolute rocks all game, tackling hard, covering well & clearing convincingly.

Ash & Finn played wide on each wing & gave us good outlets to get forward. Centre mid pairing Dom & Sam dug in & battled hard & also managed to get forward when we broke.

Everyone else was rotated at left & right back & up front. Keastie, Aiden, Damo & Alex were brilliant in defence – for attacking players such as these boys they will learn a lot from playing in defence.

Liam & Chris worked their socks off up front to deny the defence any time & force mistakes – again learning that being a forward is not just about scoring goals.

The only goal of the game came from a corner. Jake crossed it from the right & it bobbled around to Finn’s feet & he poked it home.

Great gritty team performance & rewarded this week with a great result.

Pom – Millsy – did not put a foot wrong & held the defence together superbly.
