Match Report: A warm morning saw Blues take on their Springwood counterparts in what was a bit of an epic in the end.

Game started with both teams getting stuck in but it was Springwood who took a deserved lead. Blues looked shaken but it was Mason on as sub who pulled it back with a solo ‘goal of the season’ contender! If he hadn’t stopped to put it in the net he would probably have been half way to Perth by now! Great goal. Half time 1-1.

Second half pep talk a reminder that rushing up to make a challenge is possibly not the best tactic, and that in training we did drill left and right foot shooting. But Springwood began to pull away with two well taken goals and it was 3-1 with 10mins to go. However up stepped Wil to drive a corker home after a corner had only been half cleared and then Blues pulled it back to 3-3!

However the game then took an unexpected turn with some choice tackles flying in and a corner to Springwood giving them a 4-3 lead with 2 mins to go. Surely all over. But wait, left foot finishing drill you say. Oh yes, was that Ben 15 metres out? A left foot rocket into the top corner? Of course it was!

4-4 and a very entertaining game finished with a flourish. Well played to Blues for the fighting spirit they showed and Ben for his MOM moment!
