Match Report

Another wonderful game of football from eight year boys that amazed the appreciative crowd. Goals were scored from all distances and angles, as the Cougars went on a goal scoring spree.

Ben Haywood scored a rocket shot from the half way line and then showed the lightheartedness in the team by yelling to the Coach ”well you did say shoot from anywhere!”

POTM Jacob Rynne produced his best game of the season, getting stuck into the heavy defensive workload.

Heath Stanners was a great support at the back, often running huge distances to help out defenders, then rejoining the attack.

Ethan Ridley also showed what a Superfit athlete he is, firstly playing for the 10/7’s, then backing up for his own team and scoring twice.

More important than being undefeated this year, is the maturity of the football we’re playing, the boys being fully aware of possession of the ball and quickness from set pieces. To see boys of this age work a short corner and turn it into a goal is amazing!

Another great effort and win, no doubt another hard session on the training field will bring more skills next Saturday.
