Match Report U9 Cougars (07-05-2011)

Match Report	The field at the Grammar School was immaculate, probably the best in the Nepean District. The morning dew made the ball very hard to control, and it was several minutes before we started to dominate the game. Ethan Ridley was welcomed back to the team, a very talented youngster and hard worker in any position. Jack Higgins and Tom Wrightson scored seven goals between them, both looking incredibly sharp when they attacked. While we continue to win comfortably most weeks, it’s easy to overlook all the hard work and solid platform that the defenders provide each week. Gus Callinan made many bone crunching tackles, Oliver Magri always marks his opposition player tightly and James Harvie always acts coolly under pressure. Ben Haywood lines up in Defence for kick offs, but he covers every inch of the field, showing amazing stamina. Whilst it’s great for the ego to be undefeated after five games, the children would probably learn alot more about the game if the Under 9 Division was graded and they played similar ability opposition every week.
