Match Report

Good teamwork produced several attacks in the first half of a tight, hard-fought game.

After 5 minutes Steve made a good run up the right culminating in a shot well saved by the Glenmore Park ‘keeper. But Glenmore Park broke away from the clearance and scored.

Blue Mountains continued to press, with Scott and Liam combining well on the left to win a corner which led to a prolongued spell of pressure but no goal.

At the other end Tom made a good clearance under pressure when first half goalkeeper Otis was beaten by a high bouncing ball and Otis made some good saves.

Then after 21 minutes Steve and Brenton combined on the right flank, Brenton passed to Scott in the centre who beat 2 defenders and the goalkeeper and was able to put the ball into an empty net.
The defences got on top after the break with mid-field play becoming very competitive. Blue Mountains best attack started with a clearance from second half goalkeeper James which went to Robert who ran through the middle, unleashing a strong shot which required a fine diving save from the Glenmore Park ‘keeper. Meanwhile Sarah made a good clearance with James unsighted and James kept the scores level with a diving save from a close range shot.

But no goal ensued after the break and Blue Mountains backs Tom, Ben, Tim and Ferret / Sarah were awarded players of the match.
