Match Report

It was a very one sided affair against an opposition that clearly lacked experience, and to their credit they fought hard for the entire game showing a lot of spirit. As for our effort, it was a case of ‘who wants to score next?’ The scoreline of 17 nil really says it all. Without naming all the goal scorers, a task in itself, special mention to Alec Chapman who equalled a personal best of 6 goals, and that included a couple over the crossbar! Man of the Match Fraser Brown got onto the goal scorers list with a beautiful solo effort. After some deft footwork that totally confused the opposition he stormed towards the goal and slotted the ball past the keeper with great composure. We could not have scored this many goals however without a huge committment to teamwork and support from every single player, which was evident by the way the team backed each other up, measured their passes and continued to create opportunites.

Whilst it would have been easy to take our foot off the accelerator, they kept pressing right until the final whistle, which is something we will need to do against the top sides. In the end, the opposition had no answer and it was a great indication that we are serious contenders for the competition this year.

Congratulations team on a super effort!
