Match Report:
Blue Mountains dominance of this game was not reflected on the score sheet. Our goalkeeper touched the ball only once, in the last 5 minutes, and we didn’t concede a corner in the entire game are better indicators.

The first half was full of Blue Mountains attacking but produced no goal. Cory and Mitchell H initiated many attacks with their strong runs upfield while Alexander and Nathanial also provided good supply with through balls . Brenton and Michael both had shots saved with others hitting defenders, and both sent in good crosses which their team-mates just couldn’t reach. Just before half-time, Brenton was pushed in the penalty area but the Bligh Park goalkeeper did well to save Michael’s strong penalty kick.

During this period Blue Mountains dominated in midfield and defence with Mitchell C, Brendon, Ben and Steve stifling Bligh Park’s few attacks and pushing the ball forward.

The pattern continued in the second half with some positional changes. Mitchell C had a shot cleared off the line and one from Brenton went just over the bar, while James came out from goal and finally saw some action in defence.

At last, after an attack initiated by Nathanial down the right flank, a move involving several players culminated in a well-taken shot by Alexander giving Blue Mountains a well-deserved lead.

Blue Mountains continued to threaten, forcing more corners and having shots from Brenton and Cory saved. But no more goals.
